Proto
Proto is a hybrid typeface built by replacing the letters of the Latin alphabet with visually similar glyphs sourced from different writing systems around the world. All characters were selected within the Helvetica Neue type family, with the aim of “rewriting” the alphabet through a set of alternative and culturally diverse symbols.
The resulting system is intentionally heterogeneous, reflecting on the fragmented, cultural, and symbolic nature of human language.
The project draws from the theoretical reflections of Giovanni Lussu (La lettera uccide, 1999) and Emil Ruder (Typographie, 1967), exploring the relationship between form, sign, and meaning through both visual and conceptual research.
Proto thus becomes both a type design experiment and an editorial project, investigating the identity of typographic signs and language as a symbolic, biological, and cultural act.
The project was developed in collaboration with Alessandro Zingone under the supervision of Antonio Pace, July 2025.
Viceism
Viceism was conceived as a cultural provocation — a conceptual experiment that imagines the foundation of a new religion built around the seven deadly sins. The project challenges the moral and spiritual values of traditional faiths, reinterpreting sin not as transgression, but as a human virtue to be explored and understood.
The identity of this imaginary cult takes shape through the creation of its sacred texts: eight volumes — one for each sin, plus a central “mother” book. The volumes narrate the Viceist philosophy as a cyclical journey of introspection, desire, and the acceptance of the unresolved.
The project was developed in collaboration with Gabriele Nassuato, Chiara Tamburrini and Alessandro Zingone under the supervision of Stefano Cipolla, Jun 2025.
Trama
Trama is a visual and material exploration of the urban landscape of New York, developed during the Tracks of Freedom residency in May 2025. The project begins with a simple tool — a handheld scanner — used to “steal” textures, surfaces, marks, and fragments directly from the city’s architecture and environment.
Born from the brief micro–Macro, the work investigates the contrast between the invisible and the overwhelming, turning overlooked details into a dynamic visual narrative. Through this process, Trama constructs an abstract language made of digital residues, movement, rhythm, and layering.
The title plays on the dual meaning of the Italian word trama, which refers both to the weave of a material and the plot of a story. This ambiguity becomes the conceptual and structural core of the project, where scanning becomes both an act of observation and one of storytelling.
The result is an experimental animation and a series of visual compositions that reinterpret the city’s identity through a tactile and subjective lens. Frame by frame, Trama becomes a sensorial archive — a fragmented, woven memory of New York.
The project was developed with the support of RUFA (Rome University of Fine Arts) and presented at the School of Visual Arts in New York, May 2025.

Voglio morire come mi pare
Voglio morire come mi pare is a leporello addressing the deeply urgent issue of femicide in Italy, focusing on data collection, analysis, and visualization. The project draws from authoritative sources such as ISTAT, the Emilia-Romagna Region, and the Non Una di Meno National Observatory (2020–2024).The design aims to make information both accessible and emotionally resonant.
The infographic uses a flower to represent women and a circle to represent men, creating a symbolic and immediate visual language.
Alongside the data, the leporello features quotations from the pioneering works of sociologist Margaret Elbow (1977) and psychologist Leonor Walker (1979), as well as practical information about anti-violence centers. It also includes images from photographic projects that have documented violence against women, such as One Month After Being Battered by Nan Goldin (1984), Living with the Enemy by Donna Ferrato (1991), and 25/11 – You Make Me Feel Like by Maurizio Gabbana (2019).
The structure of the leporello itself is inspired by the Venus symbol, using paper engineering as both a narrative and conceptual device. An internal insert provides a legend and an introduction to the symbols, guiding the viewer through the visual system and enhancing understanding.
The project was developed in collaboration with Chiara Tamburrini, Gabriele Nassuato, and Alessandro Zingone, under the supervision of Stefano Cipolla, January 2025.

Penne Creative
Penne Creative is an illustrated book written and designed by the students of I.C. Via Giuliano da Sangallo as part of the educational project L.E.A.R.N. – Lettura, Esplorazione, Apprendimento, Riscoprendo la Natura.Published by Pandion Edizioni, the book stands as a tangible example of effective educational practice, combining storytelling, illustration, and environmental awareness.
Developed over a year of work coordinated by APS Cheiron, in collaboration with Save the Children Italia, LIPU Italia, Biblioteche di Roma, and the Biblioteca Elsa Morante, with the patronage of Roma Capitale, the project highlights the value of collective creativity in learning.
The editorial design, conceived to enhance readability and engagement for young readers, translates the educational intent into an accessible and playful visual system.
A dedicated illustration workshop guided middle school students in creating the 14 artworks featured in the book — one for each story.

Junta
Junta is a sustainable brand of long rolling papers designed using recycled paper and non-toxic inks. The project addresses the environmental impact of smoking products by promoting eco-friendly materials and conscious production processes.
What sets Junta apart is its innovative packaging: through small cuts and folds, the paper wrap can be repurposed as a filter, reducing waste and adding functionality to the design. A transport box was also developed to serve a dual purpose—as both a carrying case and a display stand—minimizing material use while enhancing practicality. The internal filters are made from leftover paper scraps from the packaging process, reinforcing a fully circular approach.
The project was developed in collaboration with Julián Piscitello, combining complementary skills and perspectives to offer a sustainable, high-quality alternative for conscious consumers who don’t want to compromise on experience.

Aida
Aida is a typeface inspired by a vintage opera poster from August 1939, originally created for the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. The project was developed under the guidance of Antonio Pace, and represents the outcome of a full year of research, drawing, and refinement.
Rooted in the modernist aesthetic of the late 1930s, the typeface began with just three letters—the ones forming the word Aida—taken directly from the original poster. These became the foundation for the development of an entire type family featuring three distinct styles: Regular, Light, and an experimental variant called Aida Mix.
Beyond the letterforms themselves, a significant part of the project focused on spacing and kerning, ensuring high usability and typographic consistency. The result is a typeface that maintains clarity, rhythm, and functionality, while preserving the spirit of its historical inspiration.

Shapes
Shapes is a personal project exploring the expressive potential of geometric forms through paper and folding. Entirely handmade, the leporello investigates how circles and squares, when combined with different types of paper and fold patterns, can generate unique textures and visual rhythms on each page.
The book is interactive and modular: it invites the reader to flip through its pages and actively compose new visual combinations, transforming a passive act of viewing into a playful and dynamic experience.
The leporello is structured in two distinct sections, each dedicated to one of the two shapes. Thanks to its bidirectional design, the book can be explored from either side, enhancing its versatility and offering multiple interpretations through form and motion.

+ 39 3662661813Giorgia Natale is a graphic designer whose creative path has been shaped by a strong personal drive and multidisciplinary curiosity.
From a young age, she cultivated a passion for photography and painting—practices that deeply influenced her way of seeing and building images. This early exploration of visual languages laid the foundation for her distinctive approach to design.
Almost by chance, but driven by a clear vision, she chose to pursue Graphic Design at the Rome University of Fine Arts. Here, she found the ideal space to merge her interests and develop a structured, experimental, and concept-driven practice. In 2025, she graduated with a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, gaining solid theoretical grounding and hands-on experience across multiple disciplines.
Currently, she is continuing her education with a master’s degree in Visual and Innovation Design, further expanding her skill set and critical perspective. Her work today is marked by a strong visual sensitivity, a thoughtful design process, and a growing portfolio that reflects her interest in visual design, editorial graphics, and branding.
